Well, I finally got around to adding the remote tranny filter and extra cooler that so many people have written up - thanks for the great advice. Today was the 1st time I've pulled the boat since doing it and 1/2 way up the lake my wife asks why my overhead display is reading 110°F for the outside temperature?

My guess is that the remote temperature sensor is somewhere near the passenger front wheel well. Can anyone confirm this? I mounted the remote filter to the outside of the frame rail, just in front of the motor mount/behind the bumper. Not a big deal, just curious.

according to this link

Its located on the front driver side by the radiator

my guess would be its summer and its damn hot out. I know in the mornings when I listen to morning shows and they report temperatures, my guage can be anywhere from 2-7 degrees off but it usually isnt that bad. 110 degrees is insane for NY...then again who knows with global warming

Yeah, 110°F is a touch too high for central NY. Once I popped the hood and let the everything cool it dropped back to a more reasonable 84°F. I have been surprised at how accurate and reliable the thing has been up until now. The only thing I changed was the remote filter and cooler so I assumed I placed them too close to the sensor. Thanks for the information.

Maybe you can find the senor and relocate it or even replace it?

I found it. It runs right over the top of the frame rail on the driver's side. It's easy to see if you look in the gap between the bumper and the grill - from the front, driver's side. It's a brown sensor, about the diameter of a nickel that's threaded on the end with a nipple (why I have no idea). Anyway, I mounted the tranny cooler about 2" away without realizing it.
