Ok the Parentals dont want me to replace the factory stereo, however they said i could add subs. I think i need a Line output converter, but am not sure which one to get if that is indeed the part. I have the pioneer premium sound also. So what do i need to do here?

Thanks

A line output converter would work, but I don't trust them. They are usually too crappily made. Some people have no problems, others have lots of problems. One thing you can do that I did in my last car was to buy an EQ. The one I bought just tied into your speaker wires. It had RCA outputs for a sub amp and had sub control built into the EQ. It improved the overall sound of the stock speakers as well.

Why don't your parents want you to replace the stereo? Did you try telling them it can all be put back to stock? That's what I did in my last car. Drove it for 4 years with over $3000 in stereo equipment in it and sold it with all the stock equipment. Took me 30 mins to make the switch.

Well my last car was a 1991 maxima with lots and lots of miles on it....and i installed my first stereo in there, and coincidentally the starter went out right after. so they made me take it out and then we had more problems. So they dont trust me, even though the car was getting ready to have to have everything replaced.
Anyways what EQ would you suggest? How much do they usually run?

Well the one I had was a Jensen and it cost around $60. I don't have any knowledge of ones that are currently on the market, but you could probably get one that would work for less than $100. You would have to cut your wires in order to wire the EQ in though, so I don't know if your parents will allow this.
