I recently purchased a power adjusted seat in good condition for my Explorer. It came with a manual seat originally.

The harness connector is different, so I came up with an adapter. As I've read about before, there are 3 extra wires when adding a power seat.

Grey and light blue - heated seat
Yellow and red - power
Black with green - ground.

What is the best way to get power and ground to this location? (safely)

How hard is it make the heating element functional? Is it as easy as adding the switch?

Thanks!

For anyone else interested in doing this, The yellow / red wire is power. I pulled from the power to the driver seat motor. I don't recall the driver power wire color, but it was pretty obvious when I got the seat up. There are 2 large gauge wires - one is power, one is ground. I ran the wire under the carpeting, over the transmission tunnel, and back through the carpet on the passenger side.

As far as the ground, you can splice it from the driver side the same way as the power, but after trying that, I would recommend just clamping a terminal on it and using the seat bolt as a ground. The gauge of wire in this situation is thick and is difficult to tap into if you're using wire crimps.

Easy modification with lots of gain. I regret waiting as long as I did to get ahold of power passenger seat.

Still curious about the heated seat if anyone has any info on that.
