passenger power seat failure

passenger power seat wont go forward but an inch. It goes backwards fine and there is nothing stuck or jaming it. It does make the sound of the motor working when you try and move it forward, it simply just will not go forward.
 






Try removing the retaining bolts (should be 4) and pulling the seat free, flip it over and look at the gears and motors as you hit the switch. It sounds like there may be damage to the teeth on one of the rails, or if your lucky it's just a penny or other debris jammed in there hidden. Either way removing the seat will give you a chance to see exactly what's going on.

Some also have a rubber tube almost like a straw that works to tell the motor to shut off when it reaches it's limits, if this is bent or kinked it could be telling the motor it's at forward limit at all times.
