2005 Explorer Eddie Bauer
2005 Eddie Bauer with power adjustable pedals. The pedals magically reset themselves to the all-the-way-forward position whenever "unlock" on the remote is pressed. I'm 6'5" and never need the pedals to be moved forward - always want them as far back as possible.

I have tried:
- Setting all memory functions to my preferred configuration (seat back, pedals back). No change.
- Leaving battery unplugged overnight for a nice hard reset. No change.
- Turning automatic locks off (this partially "solves" it in that it doesn't lock the car automatically, but anytime I need to lock it - like when I park somewhere sketchy - the problem obviously reoccurs).

Is this normal behavior for the pedals? What else can I try to remedy this? I want to be able to unlock the car without the pedals moving around willy-nilly like there's a poltergeist in the car.

I've thought about yanking them out of there, but don't want to rob potential future owners of a useful feature.

I had the same problem, who knows why these things happen. Disconnect the motor connector, it's under there, you'll find it if you look.

Forget about potential future owners (there won't be any) and solve your current problem so you can move forward to the next problem.

Does anyone know if the adjustable pedals were standard on the '05 E.B's?
