Thank you in advance for anyone that can offer a bit of help here.
I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Sport, 5spd, 2wd, OHV 4.0.
Trucks lower intake manifold gasket was puking, replaced it and my valve cover gaskets, and accidently adjusted my CPS in the process. bolted everything back together, truck started instantly. ran it for about 30 min, turned it off, wouldn't start back up *crank crank crank*
gave it 30 min maybe an hour, fired RIGHT back up, no hesitation.
Even with the CPS unplugged completely, same problem.
Replaced the CPS, Same problem *Had SES for CPS after the repair*
Aside from a frayed/broken cable for the CPS, can it being out of adjustment cause it to ONLY be able to start when ice cold??? I know there is alota assorted crap in the manifold and gas tank that its still burning off, and the plugs ARE probably fowled, but its odd that ONLY when ice cold will she fire right up.... ANY input is greatly appreciated.
On a side-note, the CPS syncro was NOT pulled out of the truck during the intake manifold job, I did pull it out to replace the sensor, and dropped it back in, the motor was never turned during this process, so I'd imagine I don't need that freaky alignment tool, and I just need to check the voltage at a certian point in time? *still not sure
