Hi Everyone. Have just spent a long time reading through the forum and everyone seems very helpful. I have wanted an Explorer for a long time, my current cars are a 1999 Range Rover 4.6 (P38) and a 1998 Subaru Outback estate, the Subaru needs needs about £800 spent on it and I have seem a 2000 Explorer Northface for sale not far from me, it has done only 45,000 miles with 2 owners and full service history, they want £3400 for it. I am now more than tempted to get rid of the ultra reliable Subaru but if I may ask a couple of questions, fuel consumption, what would I expect to get to the gallon, I live in West Sussex and do only local mileage around country lanes, school runs twice a day, work and back, some towns but no city driving. Also the Rangie as you can guess has its tempremental moments with the electronics and can sometimes push you to the brink, this so the onboard computer tells me is averaging 18 miles to the gallon. Any ideas how the Explorer would compare to the RR with fuel and reliabilty and are the Explorers off the road for long times waiting for parts to arrive from far away. I have a good local garage who works on the RR for me so my thoughts were that he would be able to do the Explorer. Sorry for the many questions but really do want this vehicle if I can afford it.
Many thanks, Paul
