2010 Ford Explorer EB
Hello All,

I'm very new to the forum and not sure if I'm posting in the right place. If not, would a moderator please move me to the appropriate forum?

______________

I recently purchased a 2010 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with a second row DVD Entertainment system.

My Wife and I love it and we're very happy we made the decision to purchase a Ford.

In the past we have used an IPad on a headrest harness for the kids entertainment in the back.

My question is this, is there a way to upgrade the stock DVD player/Screen with something a bit more robust? I'm looking to increase the screen size at the minimum and replace the whole system if I have to. I have trolled the net looking for after market replacements and have not found any joy.

If you could, would someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you in advance,

-NJ

NJ, I think what you looking for is a aftermarket item! My suggestion would be to try your local Car Audio shops or look at www.crutchfield.com. To my knowledge there has been no direct replacement for what came in your Explorer from Ford, However the aftermarket work can provide you with choices only limited by your budget.

Check over in the audio/navigation section. Lots of stuff posted over there in terms of replacements.

I installed a Pyle PLDNV78i in my 2006 a few months ago. Its got everything.

Holy crap, can't believe the price for that thing!

I think NJD was looking to replace the Second Row DVD Entertainment System, but that's an awesome deal for the Head Unit. Just poked around online for a similar unit, and they're all less than $500. To buy an OEM replacement is near $1,000. Wow, when did these things get so cheap?

Try Newegg.com (actually, Beach Audio was the seller). I got mine for $214. Delivered.

Yes, I was looking to replace the factory second row entertainment system. Has anyone ever done that before?
