Hello,
I installed some Alpine 5X7's today in the front, and there's a world of difference, i think I'll find some cheaper 5 x 7's for the rears soon.

Anyways, my question is can i use an aftermarke HU with the stock CD changer? Is there some sort of adapter i could use?

eh from what I have learned no you cannot use the factory 6 disc changer with an aftermarket head unit.... ( But good choice going alpine :) )

so what do most people do? Just buy a single disk (that plays MP3's....?hmm) and scrap the changer? (I mean it would give you good place to store your CD's at least?) Or do they opt for a whole new package?

my alpine head unit ( 1 disc) will only work with an alpine 6-disc cd changer. It will not work with my stock 6 disk, so it's chillin in there until I take it out for more center console space I guess.

which is what I did or am doing (I need a new suspension setup before a cd changer) and my mp3 CD's keep me happy with enough music.

well, i guess we could all use a little extra storage space...ahh.

And a new HU would dirve my speakers a little better right?

(Oh, on a slightly different topic, the holes for 6.5" speaks do line up with the stock holes right?)
