Ok well I got an aftermarket intake from eBay just to get some sound out of it and it was fine for a while but now everytime I go up a hill It like bucks and bogs I have to give it more gas so it can downshift then its fine would the size of the intake cone matter? Becuase I have a standard intake cone maybe it isn't giving enough air to the engine and everytime I peg it and I hit like 4000 rpm and higher it sounds like metal hitting metal Idk if its the intake filter hitting the metal where the OE air filter box was is there a way i can test it to see if it is exactly that?

If it was fine initially, but now has problems, then you might have an issue that has been caused by the intake.

Is the filter an oiled type like a K&N or other re-usable filter? If so, the oil tends to foul the MAF. Pull your MAF apart and see if it needs cleaning.

Also check your computer for any codes.

Another thing to consider is heat management. If your intake simply draws hot air from the engine compartment, you'll make less power as the engine warms up. The stock intake is designed to be very consistent with the air it pulls and in this way is better than a "warm air intake" - it is technically a cold air intake from the factory.

Many cheap intake kits don't shield the filter from engine bay heat at all. That is in my opinion what the K&N application-specific kits charge you for - 50% is for the filter and tubing, 50% is the plastic shielding box shaped for your application.

Making a warm air intake work better requires shielding the filter from engine bay heat and drawing air from a colder source. Or decreasing engine bay temps at least.
