98 Eddie Bauer (R.I.P.)
As some of you know, I am in the big middle of a major renovation of my 1998 Explorer, Eddie Bauer Edition with a 4.0L instead of a 5.0L. ROFL, but that is another story. So I have learned to ask questions first and get advice, instead of acting smart, and finding out how dumb you are later. LOL.

I want to do a moonroof edition. That is the only thing that it is missing that I want to get other then seat warmers, but I am in Texas, it just doesn't get cold enough for me to worry about my tush. So, can someone help educate me on what to look for and any "Buyer Be Aware" stuff would be greatly aprreciated. Especially on what brands to look for and which ones to be leary of.

Thanks in advance,
Ronnie

your Eddie Bauer dident come with one?(i know it's a option..but most have it)

My sister in laws has one, but mine didn't. It has everything else I can think of though, except a V-8, LOL.

BBQ... just sell your 4.0 and buy a 5.0 with a moon roof! LOL

I can't do that. My red 4.0L is just fine. It just needs a facelift. LOL, and part of that face is a moon roof. I know someone out there has either already gone through this process or there is someone who actually does the installs and can give me a few pointers on this expensive job.

interesting, i wanna know how much it'd cost too, I'd like to have a big window above my head...

Webasto seems to be very popular in the aftermarket. I would suggest going to one of the "upscale" dealerships (mercedes, porsche, bimmer etc) and see who installs their moonroofs and go check the place out for yourself. Should run you between 8-1100 bucks.

I did this. To put a brand new soliare moonroof with 1 touch functions in my truck will cost me 1195 + tax. Will take them 2 days to complete the job with an appt. But it does have a nice warranty to it. More or less a lifetime warranty on parts, as long as YOU own the vehicle. Are these Soliaire moonroofs any good? They recommended the 5300 model for my Explorer. But $1195 seems a little steep, or is it just me being cheap. LOL.

Yikes! $1200! Looks like I'm sticking to my lil flip up one. Only $200. :D
