i have a 93 explorer xlt, and i just had a new kenwood stereo put in by my local audio store and it cuts out. almost always when i roll my windows all the way up and randomly when i drive. the old stereo did this but not nearly as much and i didn't think anything of it cause it was old. any ideas of what this could be??

thanks

Is it only one certain window that this happens with?

If so it may be a speaker wire shorting out in the door. A good radio is built with a "protection" mode so that if a speaker shorts or is blown it willl not play so it doesnt cause any damage to the radio.

i would start out by checking the speakers to make sure they are good (meaning the impendence is still strong), then the wiring.
