Air box silencer

I've tried searching and have only been able to find info on the 4.0s

Does a 97 5.0 with the cone filter have a silencer?

I don't know the answer to this but I think after two days of no answers, I probably would have just popped the hood and looked.

I did, and I couldn't see anything but I thought I'd clarify....

There should be one, it goes from the filter box to the back of the headlight. It looks almost like a black wide open funnel.
