Air Con Problem - UK 4.0L

I have searched but cant find the answer. One of the Air Con pipes has a hole in it. I discovered this after hearing a hissing noise in the engine bay. The pipe that is holed is just after the 'u' bend and goes into the black box against the bulkhead/firewall. I have been told by Chrisquelch that to replace the pipe means I have to replce the Air Con rad. How is this done? Chilterns just glosses over any Air Con stuff.

What tool and how do you use it to undo the quick release part of the pipe?

Are there any writ ups with pics on how to do air con stuff?

I take it the box and round thing are connected? The pipe that has ahole in goes into the bottom of the box

The box you speak of is where the evaporator coil is located.
The pipe with the hole is most likely part of the evaporator itself.
I'm not sure if it's assessable from the engine compartment or from within the car, dash might have to come out or at least part of it.

Thanks - guess I will have to do without air con then. We dont really need it over here, just a nice heater for winter!

Won't affect the heater at all. It will take long to defrost in the winter, though.
