Hey,

I've been looking around all morning on this issue, and all i found was info regarding older X's. I have a 1996 and my AC is always blowing cold air, no matter what the setting or position of the interior switches. So even if i put it on defrost it will blow cold air. Is this the switch or is there something wrong with the relay? Any help would be apperciated.

Thanks

Tim

I have a '96 and don't have that function. :(
Wanna trade? :)
Being from Maine originally, I love the A/C running all the time... ran it in winter even.
My wife knows to dress like an eskimo when she rides with me and calls me Dr. Freeze (and Dr. Feelgood on occasion, but we won't go there. )

Was this post useful?
( x ) No.. unless we negotiate a trade.
( ) Yes... thanks.

You may want to look into information concerning the "blend door". Most times, the blend door problem is associated with ac only operating in "max a/c", but myself and others here have seen it cause all kinds of weird things. In my '96, sometimes I only get cold, sometimes I only get hot. I have also found, that sometimes I can switch it between max a/c and full heating and eventually hear the door flop open or closed.

Sunbum,

Let me think about the trade. Umm nope sorry, to much time and effort already sunk into mine.

Later dude

The compressor will run in all positions except Panel (vent) on the '96. Does it still blow cold air in all positions (except for max, which will always blow cold) if you have the temp knob on hot ???

Thanks,

You are correct, it appears that if it is over 50 degrees outside that the a/c will run in all the positions except for the panel setting. I learn something new everyday.

thanks to all
