air induction & ticking accelerator

I recently called the ford place concerned about a ticking sound coming from underneath floorboard (in front of accelerator) when passing on highway. Sounds like a coat hanger tapping something metallic. Anyway, they did an air induction service. It helped the engine with pick up, but didn't help sound. Someone else suggested plus gasoline. Again, didn't help sound. Any ideas?

It's possible your heat shield may be loose. You may also want to look for any loose wires/fittings down there.....

Is it coming from the engine, lifters maybe?
