Was wondering, did Ford intentionally restrict the air intake in the 1st gen Ex's?
My 94 runs out of breath at 4000rpm. You can hold the pedal to the floor and it stays at 4000. I took the intake ducts off, and it'll jump right to 6000 quicker than you can blink. I literally lit up the tires off the line. So, I put a new Fram filter on it, buttoned it up, and can get it to 4200rpm. Is it the intake system or the filter? Would a K&N filter in the factory box help? Maybe it's the MAP sensor restricting everythng? It runs fine driving it normal, just not a lot of pickup.
