Airbag Light

The airbag light blinks 4 times then 2 times. Does this several times then stays on solid. The dealer says I need a front crash sensor and connector due to corrosion, and a restraint control module. Are these available after market? Where are they located on the car? Thanks!

Seriously doubt that the components you mention are available aftermarket.

Hi Jim, I had the same problem on mine and the front crash sensor is located on the exterior near the front bumper just below the grill......I bought my sesor at the dealer and cost 80$.....I didnt have to change the connector.....simply changed the sesor...took all of 10 minutes to remove and replace.....
re-plugged the battery and the problem was fixed.....

not sure what the restraint control module has to do with it but all I did was change the front sensor and problem was fixed.......

Thanks for the info. That sound a lot better than the $700 the dealer wants. I have since learned that the restraint control module is located under the center console.

Jim....once you disconnect the front sensor....you'll know right away if the connector is still good.....as for me....the sensor was completely rusted and 1 of the pins inside had broken off.....and the connector was perfectly fine(like brand new)....so im guessing you probably have the same problem....

hopefully you'll save a good 600$

Update- replaced front crash sensor, new from dealer, $68.44 with tax. Plug was ok, just like you said, one pin was corroded off. Seems fine now. Many thanks for your info.
