Alarm Help

I have the OEM key fob with the Code Alarm installed alarm on my '96 X. Everything was working until I disconnected the battery for over 30 minutes. When I reconnected the battery, the alarm was no longer working.

I reprogrammed the key fobs by turning the ignition 8 times and depressing the key fob. However the alarm is NOT working. When I arm the system, the Theft light is enabled but 1). it doesn't chirp when arming, 2). alarm doesn't sound when you pull on the driver door which causes a power drain with the interior light, 3). door locks don't lock when you go in gear, 4). the disarm doesn't disable the ignition start, have to press the alarm override switch.

I think I lost the alarm program, how do you reprogram the ALARM? I searched this site and can't find out how.

Can someone help out? I've seen many posts on alarms and would like to get the alarm working again on the X.

Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you just blew a fuse. I had this happen to me once and that is all it was, a fuse. When you start your vehicle and put in into gear, the doors should lock, if not, find that fuse. Let me know if this is the problem.

Inspected each fuse, all are good. I still think the alarm must be programmed. Anyone out there that can help???

That happened to my 97 eb when i put on a pair of lights. I had the battery disconnected for a long time and then the alarm system wouldn't work. I didn't know what was wrong so I left it alone and 2 days later it was back to normal.

It's way over 2 days and the alarm hasn't come back. Think it will take a miracle or someone with knowledge on the factory installed alarm.

Anyone out there?
