I have been getting a humming noise from the front end for a month or so now (sounds like i'm running 33" mudders rather than my stock 235/70r16s) and my driver's side tire looks sort of like its been turned to the left when my passenger's side is completely straight in the wheel well. I'm pretty sure this is an alignment issue so I'm going to take it in for one, but could it be anything else (especialy something I could check/fix?). thanks.

Maybe a bearing

Mine is making a humming noise as well. Took it to the mechanic since I could not find the problem. He told me that the problem is that my wheel bearing is shot.

yeah, I was thinking bearings too because of the humming but would that also make the whole tire sit turned/crooked?
good luck with yours-the whole hub assembly has to repalced if the bearings are bad right?

Could be your tires are bad due to alignment. It also could be a bad bearing or tie rod problem which would also cause problems. Are your lugnuts tight because that could cause a problem.

lugs are fine, i know that...
I'm leaning more toward a steering issue like tie rods or something... or maybe it really does just need an alignment. I'm going to take it to a shop that does front end work tomarow and see what they say.
thanks for the help.

It's very possible it's a bad bearing. If so, you should be able to move the tire back and forth by hand, especially if you take the weight off. If this is so, the truck is not drivable.

Jack up the lower arm and see if it kicks in a lot

These bearings have less than 2" between them. You won't even feel movement but when you remove the weight, it will move quite a bit. If you got any miles on this it could probably use ball joints. I just did tie rods, lowers ball joints and a wheel bearing on my 97.
