Don't know about helpful...

Hey,

I've been a member since the beginning...been good watching it grow...

But I don't know about calling it helpful...this site has cost me thousands of $$$...it's dangerous!!

Actually, I guess it's also saved me a few bucks too...

I'm in Perth...done any mods? Pics?

Cheers,
BK

Hey MEATYCRAB

We thought it would be interesting seeing how many Aussies are using this site.
you can see
Dead Link Removed
We have not really done any mods...... done a tt and put 31/10.5 ats

Where are they?

Gee, I know there's more than just you and Brian. ?
Hey Brian, How's it going?

I'm here too

hey chow how did you go with the cam chain?

i dont know if the site has cost me money or ive saved it
but i am pleased it is here to give us info to help keep our X's in good knick i like the place & most if not all the ppl seem to be helpful which is really handy for us considering the superior knowledge of our ford dealers
(will some one please pick me up of the floor)hahaha

Gavin

hey oz

DONT mention.....
hey chow how did you go with the cam chain?

We have emailed you and left you a message. We want to know how you managed to get yours covered by Ford.:chug:

Considering there are no Brian's on this thread and my name starts with a "B", I'll assume Ray was warmly greeting my presence :p

I'm doing well...the Ex is even better...there are a few niggly bits that have to be sorted out, but otherwise, everything is going along just as planned...albeit a little off schedule...there's still a 3" body lift sitting on the shelf, 3 years after purchase...

I haven't heard much about yours lately though...

Chow...I know for sure there are 4 more Aussie explorers on the site...including another punk like me in Melbourne, another in Perth and another up north in WA...

I tell ya how much it sucks...when I was in Uni, I had all the time in the world to do all the mods I wanted, but no money...now I have all the money in the world (well, close to it, at least $2.50...) and no time to play with the Ex...

Oh the humanity...

BK

im here too

in perth australia 97 xl tt 31" tyres what performance mods can we do in oz??

chow
SAVE THAT LETTER
and yes i was shouting to make sure you heard me
because i will bet my left nut that someone else will need it (i allraedy have 4 kids) so i can live without it as long as the right one works properly

WOW are u crazy 4 kids!!!

Well we must be crazy too we have 4 also, lol

If it all goes through fine now that we have the info ford wanted we plan on helping any Aussies save the expence on the repair costs that we can.
But we are not jumping the gun...... we have to wait and see what happens. Just hoping they keep there word.

Its been on the bench for 3 years!!!!

thats disgusting, lol Although i must admit I would personally prefer it sitting on the bench(3 inch body lift)
John on the other hand would not have had it sitting there for more than half a day. We both love our X but have different opinions on how we want it to look. He likes the jacked up tall. big mud tyres tuff beast look, lol and I like the lowered shiny wheels, no dirt no mud no 4Wd look, lmao
Maybe we need 2 Xs:confused:

Shaun as far as I know we can do anything to our Xs that they do anywhere else, as long as we can get hold of the parts but who knows I may be wrong although I dont think so.

Hi guys,
I've been using this site for about 6 months and find it really interesting and good for some non-dealer knowledge. Great site , kepp up the good work guys. :-)

Anything the US boys can do, we can do better...

It just costs us a lot more money...

Most things that are on my Ex have been done locally...like suspension and stuff...but I've got a lot of mail order stuff from the States...it's exspensive (although, not to bad now with the exchange rate, thanks Saddam!) and it takes a while to get here...

You can check out the link in my sig for the mods on my truck...there are more to come though...

Cheers,
BK

we do appear to be few & far between dont we

actually just wanted to put us back near the top.

g'day

I've got a 1998 Limited model here in Canberra,,,,not too many around though. Been checking out this site for some time and have found it very informative.

My Ex is used for towing a boat and a little bit of 4x4 driving,,,mostly around town and highway use.

keep up the good work...hope to hear from from other Aussie owners,,,particularly in the Eastern states

another sandgroper

g,day
Have been coming here for about the last year ,own a 98xlt .No mods yet ,mostly used on the beach
cheers Brian

Well we just wanted to let all you other Aussie X owners know that we managed although it took over 8 weeks to get ford australia to cover our vehicle repairs. If any of you are having any chain guide problems email us and let us know perhaps we can help you too!!!!!:D

Emigrating to Australia

Hi all Australian guys and girls, and all the other ppl. :)
My replay is an offtopic, but this thread is the bast place on this forum (and as for me - the best place in internet) to post my replay.
I am thinking of emigrating to Australia and I am very determined. Canada is a nice country to live in BUT I am really sick of the weather we have here. It is humiliating when it is snowing from October to the middle of May. I am sick of snow and icy roads and cold and dirt and bla, bla, bla... brrrrrrrrr... I want to cry whenever I see those nice photos of warm blue ocean, always green tropical plants, etc. I saw many photos of Australian cities and I like them too. :)

So far there is nothing I don't like about Australia, so I would like you guys and girls to:
1) tell me the downsides of real life in Australia
2) tell me how hard it is to find a job (in different states)
3) give me as many links as you know to Australian government websites, Australian Universities, other Australian websites you think I may find interesting (corporations, research labs, industrial, organizations, etc.)
4) give me the contacts of any of your Russian friends (if you have any) who would be willing to talk to me about the emigrating stuff and such.

About #2.
I mean a job like a driver, car salesman, labourer, etc. I don't have any University degree (studied 4 years in Russia but didn't finish for the reason I emigrated to Canada). Next year I plane to go to University to study Geological Oceanography if I finish, I think I would have good chances to find good job - what do you think? Can I study oceanography anywhere in Australia (University)?

One more thing. Do you feel comfortable walking upside-down down there? :D j/k :D:D;)

More question to come... Thanks

Shurup

Well to all the above ?s we cant help you, for the upside down part of it, its great seeing we are so far ahead of everyone else, lol

We will have a look around for some government websites that you might find useful and post them here for you. As for the work side of things we are in victoria and personally think if you are not fussy and really want to find work it is out there. Dont know about other states:D
cheers
