All brake lights out

brake lights on/off switch

I was driving home today and some guy told me all my brake lights are out. I figured it was just a fuse, but that doesnt seem to be the problem. the turn signals and taillights work fine, but nothing goes on when i step on the brake pedal, including the high mount brake light. any ideas?

Check the brake stop light switch behind the brake pedal. It's also called the BOO (brake on/off switch).

does anyone have a picture of what the brake on/off switch looks like for a 97? i took a part off, it has the connection piece on one side, and a spring in the middle. any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
