Hey everyone, I just purchased my 99 Explorer 4door, and I have an Alpine CVA-1005 System (LCD Monitor, Brain unit, 12 Disc Changer). My question is, has anyone installed a system like this in their explorer, and if so, where would I hide all the wires and brain unit? Thanks for your time,

Hey, I just installed mine this weekend. I'm still working on mounting the brain. I put mine under the small rear passenger seat. I'll have to take some pictures when I get it all done so you can see how it is mounted in there. I also put in the DVA-5205 underneath my cva-1005. As soon as I'm done I'll post some pictures. Be forwarned, it's a pain in the butt routing the wires under the carpet to the back seat if you have the center console with the A/C to the rear.

With my Clarion VRX8271 monitor and brain, I installed the brain in the console underneath the two divided storage pockets and cupholder area. I had to cut away what was seemingly useless plastic in there (still not sure why it was there) for like and hour and a half, but once I did, it fit in there nice and snug (and just to be safe, for durability I mounted it on some thing foam to protect from road bumps and shocks). It has worked beatifully and of course it's completely invisible and you don't have to worry about running wires except straight up to the head unit. I'll get some pics of my entire install this week.

I have the IVA-C800. I mounted my brain in the drivers side rear quarterpanel. It's been there with my PXA-H510 for over a year now with no problems. No pictures though. The only problem I had was wiring the remote standby for the cellphone.
