I was out on a trail tonite and when i went through a fairly deep puddle my X stalled after it got through. well...i let it sit for about 30 minutes, not fun out in the middle of no where, and it started back up...but would only go for about 30 secs running, then the battery indicator would dip waaaay down then it would stall....did that for the rest of the trail..another mile...wasnt fun. so i get back on the road and pull up to a stop light...boom...there it goes again. so i start it back up and make the 20 mile drive home without much incident..just whenever i pull up to a stop light and stop...the entire console lights and headlights dim...and the RPM's drop like its gonna stall...so what do i need to replace/fix now?

well, you arent supposed to get the alt or the batt wet but i think you may have shorted out a component like the voltage regulator or something closesy related.............

hmmm

do you think taking it to the local advanced auto parts..and having them hook it up to their tester will reveal the problem? also..how can i prevent this from happening again..i know you arent supposed to get them wet...but i dont see how you can not..if you go through a puddle and such?
