alternator cuttin out, batt. light comes on?

i have a 94 explorer sport 4x4, put in a mean green alternator(month ago) and was speedin to work when i thought i saw the battery light come on, wasn't sure, so i've kept my eye on it and it has happened a couple times now, but only for a second then power is back to normal. a friend said its probably the regulator inside the alternator, does anyone know? are they common to mess up? thanx for your help:]

Did you upgrade the wiring if its a high amp alternator?

belts not slipping, at idle is fine when reving at 2000-3000rpm stops charging and batt light comes on but when i rev the bags outta her she kicks back in but will only charge at 14.30, plz help, should i send it back in?
not even 2 months old(mean green piece of crap?)
