Hey i have a 03 ford explorer sport with a 4.0 SOHC and i just completed my body lift and now i drove it all around today just fine no issues at all, UNTILL i went to a friends house and he wanted to hear my system, So i flexed my two 12's on a 1100w amp and then left after that, But about a mile later, Realized my volt meter started to drop and i was getting power cuttouts with my sterio and subs so i quickly turned my subs off with the switch spliced in the remote from the deck, to stop further drainage to make it home, Then i get home, and let it sit and see if i can see anything obvious, nope everything looked to be fine. I ran a multi meter from the stud on the alternator and disconected the negative termanial on the battery, and it read like .3 ohlms so that rules out the mega fuse/line being doneski. i think its the alternator....

I do NOT have a cap on my subs and the explorer has 98000 on it...

Please help me ive got to get this fixed.

Also it would not start without a jump from my bro's jeep and when it was running The battery Kept dropping from i believe 13 somewhere to like 11.5 or lower with a consistent slow drop as it idled dropping slowly every about 2 seconds.

You're in the wrong section buddy. (:
This is for second gen Explorers. 95-01, not 03.

But, it probably is your alternator.
Mine went on my 97 explorer while I was driving it at night. All power accessories failed, from lights to gauges to my power steering and brakes.. not a fun drive home.

This is the correct sections for me, mine is still considered a second gen because its the same as a second gen sport suspension wise, It was my alternator, but then driving the rest of the way home also ruined my battery, so nearly 300 dollars latter its no longer dieing on the side of the road lol.

I beleive my stero system was the culprit for it finally going.

Trust me, I know how you feel.
When my alternator went and everything died, I managed to drive home on just the power left in the battery..
Changed the alternator, but only recharged the battery.
I'll need to buy a new one soon since I couldn't start it the other day. Aha.
