alternator question

Will an alternator from a 2nd gen explorer 4.0 fit my 3rd gen explorer with 4.0? mine is a 2005.

have you tried cross referencing the part # from your '05 with the part # from a 2nd gen?

Yeah. The part numbers were different because of the case. I was told by the seller that it has a larger case but will still fit. He said it would be bolted down with 2 bolts instead of 3. It's for a high output alternator. 350 amp
