highs really don't require a lot of power a good 50wX4 amp should do you good. For years I had a Alpine that pushed out 35wX4 on my highs and it sounded good. I stepped up to a higher wattage amp earlier this year cause I changed the whole system around.
Exactly, even if you only get the same amount of power that your head unit puts out it will still sound much clearer just becuase the power is cleaner. You should be more than fine with a 50watt rms per channel amp.
