What amp should I buy to power my 2 12" CVR's ? Also would I be better with a 2 channel or mono ?

Mtx makes a 900 watt amp that is really good. If you go to bestbuy.com you can see they ave two one is mono and one is a two channel, Thet are the same in price and specs. I suggest getting the 2 channel it will be a better amp

What type of RMS and such should I look for though because I have no idea what to go with a Mono or 2 channel and also how much watts and such .... ?

yeah but that matters in your amp choices, if you got/are getting dual 2 subs, that limits your options a little in that you can only do: either a .5 ohm mono load, 2 ohm mono load, or stereo 1ohm/4ohm load.

I was under the impression from your post that you already had the subs, that would make a difference as I said above in the amp you'll want to be looking for.

Ok i bought this amp for my 2 12" Kicker CVR's. What i was wondering is 2 things...Amp

1.) according to this siteRockford how should i wire each sub into the terminal for them to be running at 2 ohms?

2.) Can someone draw me a diagram or explain how i should wire the amp to each subs terminal. Should i use 1 seperate channel to each terminal or some way else ??

The way I have found that mine pulls the most of my amp is to Bridge the amp to on sub. From that sub run the positive to the positive of the other sub. And do the same with the neg.

if you have a 2 channel amp you want to bridge it to a mono signal...you dont want your subs playing in stereo.

this can be a little more complicated than just wiring all the positives to one side and all the negatives to another.

what impedence (ohms) were the subs that you bought and if they're svc or dvc?

btw that soundstream amp you have a link to is fairly decent. price looks a bit high though to me. If thats your price range id go pick up a JBL 1200.1 off of ebay and keep your gains down for this setup. That way you have more than enough power to upgrade in the future

The subs are 2 ohms and they are DVC I posted a link above to rockford to see how to wire each sub but got no reply...

if the subs are dual 2 ohm voice coils, you'll have to wire them series each, netting 4 ohms per sub to keep them in the stable range listed for that amp. You wont get the most out of that amp with the subs you have less the amp can handle 2 ohms mono or 1 ohm stereo, which I doubt.

you will wire one neg and one positive on the sub together, and utilize the other terminals as is, one pos, one neg. Should be a diagram on there for that, series wiring.

look for an amp that puts out atleast 600 wattsX1@2ohm and you're set... JBL600.1 will do the trick or you can just go for the 1200.1

Well the way you guys are talking it seems that the amp that I got listed above wont push these subs at all or am i wrong ? Also can someone please draw me just a small diagram so i can see what to do becuase i'm not realy to sure how to wire this....

well the only way to wire those dual 2 ohm subs wont get the most out of the amp, look for an amp that will do most power into either .5 ohm mono, 2 ohms mono or 1 ohm stereo, 4 ohm stereo.

what the heck are you talking about, two 4 ohm coils wired series net 8 ohms, parallel two of these and you'll get 4 ohms mono.
