The past weekend I went from regular 10w30 motor oil to Amsoils 5w30 synthetic oil. I don't know if my computer center is messing up or what, but I am getting less miles/gallon than when I had the regular oil. I flushed out the system with some amsoil cleaner before I put the sythetic in and I am also using an amsoil filter. Any suggestions as to why this could be happening??

I seriously doubt that changing to synthetic would cause an increase in consumption.

Fill your tank and drive till empty and refull and calculate mileage the old fashoned way.

Let us know........

fuel mileage

Changing to synthetic motor oil should actually give you a slight improvement in gas mileage.
I'd look for the culprit somewhere else.....................
