can you tell me where to find the 5 digit code for the exterior key pad(for door locks)? some body told me I could find it in the rear tailgate on a 99 but mine is a 04. the dealor said its on a card in the glove box but no card is found. I'm trying to avoid taking it to the dealership to retreave the code.

thanks brooklynbay, but my explorer is a 04 and in the panel in the LH 1/4 is a bunch of heat/ac crap would the module be in there some where? mine has no panel with thumb screws to undo.also in the link you stated that I might be able to a add a fob care to ellaberate

I have an 2002 and the module is on the passenger side right behind the door. Remove door weatherstrip and take panel loose. You can then see the module, I believe there is 3 screws holding module in . I removed the module so I could tilt it to see code. The code is right on top of it. Hope this helps.

When you say passenger side door, do you mean the front door or the rear?
