ok so to start off i have 4.6l almost 100k i remever reading on here and being a part of the thread but i cant find it for some reason. looking for some insight...

when driving it only happens sometimes and i believe it is under load. there is a slight thumping noise throughout the truck, once it shifts it goes away(sometimes), it happens in a bunch of gears. I recall seeing someone post something that stated this was a problem in some 2002-2005 explorers and the fix was a new 4x4 control module, can anyone clarify this. I will be changing my tranny fluid to synthetic soon, i havent checked it since i bought it but i dont think that has anything to do with it but i could be wrong. I also have the gear flare that happens on occasion, can someone recommend steps to take to fix this and prevent any serious repairs to my tranny i know the 5r55 has numerous problems and i would like to correct or address them before it turns into something to expensive.
