another question about my new 00 V8 Mounty

Should I be getting a brake light on the dashboard when the E Brake is engaged? I know the light is there and works (it comes on when the key is in the on position); but nothing illuminates on the dash when I step on the E brake?

sounds like the switch on the e brake pedal is ether bad of is out of adjustment i had the same problem on mine i had to fiddle with the switch and now it works every time i use my e brake
