Today while changing the plugs in my '94, I dropped something and had to crawl under the front end a little. While there I looked at the air intake. I found the baffle that limits the cold air that the engine can suck. Well, I removed the baffle next to the radiator and flipped the rubber skirt that sits next to the radiator so that it directs air to that opening so that the intake can suck cold air. I don't know how much it helps though because I have holes in my airbox.
Anyone else done this? I am trying to think up some ideas to get at least a cold air induction setup going. Some of my ideas involve moving the battery and the wide attachment from a vacuum cleaner (the wide, skinny one that funnels into the hose). I'll let you know my plan when I get some more out of my head.
In any case, any one else had ideas along this line before or implemented?
Also, would the route of the ducting matter in the the curves were smooth (like mandrel bent tubing has smooth bends)? I'm just wondering incase I decide to try something with PVC.
Thanks,
Dave
