another tranny problem?

my 94' has never given me any problems but coming home from work today all of a sudden it seemed like it didnt want to shift out of first. It would rev around 4000 rpm then i would let off of the gas and it would change and it did that for the other gears too pretty much. I changed my filter and fluid and the filter had a tear in it. After i changed my fluid it still does it but it doesnt seem as bad. Could it take awhile to get it shifting normal after changing the tranny fluid? I remember my 65 stang acted like that for a day or two after i changed the tranny fluid in it. I also hear that ford cars will act weird after changing the tranny fluid. Any info appreciated. as far as acting wierd after the filter and fluid change, they say thats when they go. but yours was slipping before hand so theres a little hope i guess. mine shifted the exact same way yours is and i needed a rebuild. thats about all i can really tell ya. good luck though

well, i am having to have my tranny tore apart to see whats wrong...$461 to have it taken out, tore apart, cleaned up and put back in plus I have to pay for whatever parts needs to be replaced. The guy said i still have all 4 ranges so that is good. I dont think thats a bad deal at AAMCO....hopefully it wont cost me $1200 b/c i am just a pore college student
