Alright, I have to pull out my transmission for the second time since late Feburary. This is getting old! I have a 97 OHV auto and I want a 5-speed.
Will a 5-speed bolt up to mine from a 91 and up? If so, well even if it doesn't, where would be a good place to get one. I checked on Jasper's website and they want like $2300. What about Ford are they even more expensive?
If i decide to stick with this auto and have it rebuilt again, isn't there a place that makes a clutch pack or something like that for these things? I remember someone saying something about it a long time ago. Does anyone know what i'm talking about? How much would that help me out? This thing is already a turd, i'd like to have every little edge that i can get over her!
One more thing. I saw someone talking about using a C4 and having to get a different bell housing. How extensive is that, i mean what is the bell housing from? Isn't that going to change a lot of stuff--transfer case mounting, drive shaft, electronics, link-age? I'd love to have something stronger but if this takes a lot of modifing is it really worth it?
