Hi there Explorer Forum'ers,

I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my SOHC V6 engine. I am curious to know what is the best Antifreeze for these engines? I have plenty of time on my hands as I am waiting for all American made parts to arrive from the good ol' US of A. So I thought I'd do it right the first time 'round.

You may find it relevant to know that I run on the sand a lot. Running in the sand works the engine resonably hard, tranny too, but thats a whole different kettle of fish.

Should I be looking for something with a high concentration of Ethylene Glycol in it or look for something else? I prefer too buy American when ever I can so feel free to throw in some brand names. :exp:;)

:salute::us:

Premixed Prestone

Prestone, Peak, I think all the different brands are so close to the same. But, why would you buy premixed anti freeze, and pay $8.00 or more per gallon, when you can buy straight anti freeze for $9.00 or so per gallon, and purified water for less than a dollar per gallon. Pretty high price to pay for convenience I would say.

What kind of bull bar do you have?

G-05 is the best product out there IMHO. Make sure to mix it with distilled water. 50/50 is good to -34f, so in your area, you can probably go 66% water since you probably never see any really cold weather.

This one. It doesn't really restrict airflow much although I'd like get some lights to hang underneath it one day. It's kind of tarnished at the moment, I'll have to polish it back to "mirror finish" while the truck is off the road. It was on the Truck when I purchased it so I don't know how much it was or where from.
