Currently stripping a 91 expy to the ground for a part out, got to the core support and aprons and am met with a decision to make. Is it worth my time to drill every spot weld and sell the core support and aprons as used? If so, how much would I be able to get? Are the even reusable when drilled?
Or should I save my time (and drill bits) and just take an angle grinder to them? Thank you for any support.

Upon closer inspection, core support is bad. In the scrap pile it goes. How about the aprons?

No input on fender aprons being reusable? Perhaps I'll just save the space and time (and drill bits!) and cut those bad boys off

When I stripped a donor Explorer I cut the aprons in half to get the drivetrain out easier.

That's what I'll end up doing, thank you for replying. Figured it's not worth all the spot welds lol

I have the 2016 sport. Reliability wise good. Just long run maintenance is rigorous and pricey if you want to keep it for a long time. Had the brake booster check valve changed and brake booster hose assembly changed under warranty due to it having a vacuum leak. I owned it since July 2016 and only had to do regular maintenance on it. If you want to think long run, here's some things you need to know based on the 3.5L V6 naturally aspirated engine or turbo charged (ecoboost). The transmissions, regardless if it's the 6F50 (non ecoboost) or 6F55 (ecoboost) the fluid has to be changed every 30,000 miles if you want the transmission to last. The seals swell up once the fluid overheats (changing fluid will prevent the fluid from losing the additives that clean and cools the transmission) and the solenoids will short out if the fluid is contaminated. If it has the intelligent 4WD, I would get the Power take off unit fluid changed the same time the transmission fluid is changed. Even if you're in normal mode, power is still being sent to all 4 wheel up to 40MPH or until certain conditions are met. I'll recommend that the differential fluid gets changed no later than 50,000 miles Because my experience with previous model years, the diff oil that comes from the factory isn't that great. People will say there's no point changing the diff fluid, transmission fluid, or PTU fluid so soon or at that interval, but if you want the truck to last, just change the fluid.
Hey man I think you accidentally posted in the wrong thread lol
