any lowered 06 explorers??

I lowered my 2010. I had to replace all 4 shocks as they were so worn out that it bobbed and swayed like a cork in a bathtub, so I bought the Monroe quick struts from rock auto, 350 for all 4 with tax and shipping. In 2025 the only lowering springs for a 4th gen is the adjustable coil overs for well over $1000, so I just took apart the quick struts and cut the springs. I cut off 1.5 coils on the back and one coil on the front. I was at 34.5" rear and 33.25" front before and now I'm at 32.5" at all 4 corners.

I am assuming your alignment shop had no issues?

I haven't taken it in for an alignment yet, it tracks and drives straight. It needs tires, so when I have the money for new tires, I'll get it aligned

your back will grow tired of the factory shocks in the rear bottoming. I had no alignment issues

You gotta shorten the bumpstops and then it won't bottom out.

No, but you when you take apart the strut to cut the springs, pull off the bumpstop and it has 3 rings in a cone shape, just cut off 1 of those rings and put it all back together.
