You guys definately sound like you know a lot and could possibly be the only ones that can help me.

I have an '03 Xplorer sport, only 2wd though :( . All I really want is to give it a nice tough look and do some light muddin/off-roading with it but nothing too hardcore. I was thinking to put some 33 BFG M/T's on it so I figured I'd be needing atleast 4-6" of lift to get those on. Any suggestions on anything I could use that would give me that kind of lift? I'll probably end up putting a grill guard and winch on it incase I do get stuck which odd's are I will.

Any help with my lift problems or any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

front lift spindles and torsion bar crank rear soa.....

Use the search function and you'll find a ton of info on that topic. Welcome to the site.

blocks, TT, I think they have a body lift out there for your year, then if you want to go for the gold get FiberGlass fenders and you can put 35's.

So there really isn't any kind of suspension lift that I could use on it right?

I don't believe there is a body lift for it. I know there is a body lift for the sport trac 4wd, would that work? I'll have to check again. Since I'm a bit retarded in this subject, what does/is a TT (guessing torsion twist) but what would that do, and what was meant by blocks?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Your in luck cause you are only 2wd, so that means lifting it is cheaper. Get yourself some 3" Explorer Pro Comp lift spindles for the front, and some Warrior shackles and an Add-a-leaf for the rear. Thats 3" all around. If you need 2 or more inches in the front do a TT. You can get 5" total in the front without a body lift. If your going for 5" forget everything I said about the rear and just do a SOA in the rear for the 5".

Alright, that sounds good. Thanks. Are those parts good for any explorer? What's a SOA?

SOA = Spring over axle. This is done by putting the rear leaf springs on top of the axle, as opposed to being underneath as they are stock.

Texplorer hit it right on the nose. Spindles can only be done a 2wd, which you are so your good there. Lifting is a lot easier and cheaper on a 2wd.

I love you guys. Strickly nongay way of course. So I should be able to get these parts for my '03 sport right, and will I have to go to a suspension specialty shop to get this done?

You guys have any idea how much this might cost? I'll probably have to go with the 5" option. So spindles, TT, and a SOA.

Is a TT better than just going 2" of body lift. Granted it's cheaper but like for the car which would be better. For the SOA are there parts needed or do you basically just flip the springs to the top from the bottom?

Is there anything else that I might need to give it a nice ride or any suspension mods I should do?

Thanks for all the help, I was starting to feel bad for my X b/c I couldn't find anyway to lift it.

can anybody tell me how the SOA would work?

OK some suggestions. First off slow down a little and use the search function. Everything you have asked is easily found there.
A body lift will lift the whole truck body higher off the frame. If you did spindles and a body lift then an SOA in the rear the truck would not sit level.

Now if you were to do spindles and a torsion twist you would balance out nicely if you did an soa in the rear.

Soa's are easy. They do however require a small amount of welding and a little brake line creativity. If you do not understand all this search a lot and talk to some people that have done it alot. feel free to PM me on the SOA side of things as I have done a few.
