Hi all, I recently got the front clip on my truck and am at the point where I can remove my windshield since I have a donor truck.
Any tips or tricks on windshield replacement? Removal tools, items I will need ahead of time.
Also will the dash cowl need to come out?

Your installing a brand "new" windshield, right? First you have to cut the old adhesive bonding the glass to the body, there are several ways to do this, by knife, or by wire, In the past I have used the wire, and always helps with 2 people. Once the old glass is out and in the garbage, clean the window channel but leave about 1/32" thick of the original adhesive on to give the new adhesive something to bite to. The structural window adhesive is made by "3M", I usually get two tubes just to be on the safe side, follow the instruction on the tube (looks like caulk tube), a high quality caulk guns to make things go easy. Be sure to prep the "NEW" windshield properly.

Thanks for the reply.
The replacement windshield would be "new" as far as not being damaged at all. Depending on if I can remove it properly .
Practice run will be on my original vehicle.
Do you know if the dash and headliner need to be removed first?
Also any recommendations on the wire removal tools? I seen the use of a multi tool before to cut the adhesive, but I'm afraid I cannot reach it into the area at the dash .
Any tips on removing the molded rubber seal with the metal c channel in it? Pretty sure it's not possible to remove that without destroying it.
