Hi there,
I have my Old K&N from my now dead car and i was wondering how I could use it? I"m going to take the air box apart tomorrow, and at least cut holes in it, but i have this filter and if i can use it, it'd be great (maybe give me a couple extra miles per gallon?!)

THanks,
matt.

Hey, what kind of X do you have? Year that is... I have a '94 an want a new intake kit, but for now a K&N would work. I've looked at MAF adapter kits and feel they are a complete rip off. It's a square piece of metal with 4 holes in it. You can make one with the right materials. Match something up to your MAF so you can get an accurate size, match where the screw holes should be, and there's your diagram. Now out of plastic or metal, make your own adapter, and make sure there's a lip so the filter can attach. This is for 91-94 and 97-01 Explorers, if you don't want to use the factory airbox. Attached is a pic of what you could make for FAR under $65, the asking price for this item.

go over to ranger power sports visit the forum and do a search for k&n adapter. if i'm not mistaken a few of them have been using shower drain flanges from home depot, lowes, etc.. and trimming the area that bolts to the MAF.

a few days ago their search feature was acting up and i haven't checked it today to see if it works.

if possible try searching here also.

hope this helps.

I attached my k&n filter using the stock clamp.
