anybody got a real solution?

hey it seems like everybody talks about ideas that in theory would remove the yellowing from clearcorners, but does anybody actually have method that theyve used and it worked? My clear corners have become noticably yellow now and I'm looking to get them back to that nice clear crystal look

I remember reading something about drilling a really small hole into the lenses allowing the moisture to get out and making them clear again. It was someones website and the pictures showed a before and after and it looked alot better. I dunno maybe im crazy

the yellow isnt moisture. its just how cheap plastic does as it ages. mine are piss yellow right now. ive tried everything, and all that happened was i made them really shiny yellow. solution- buy another set for $40.

i have heard that if you keep them waxed from day one, they wont turn yellow quite as fast.

you can polish them on a buffer, like you use to polish aluminum, they make compounds to use on the wheels for plastic. I have done it on several different lights, looks like new. You can even polish out small imperfections.

edsel, i tried that. made them siny like new, yet they were still yellow. the yellow is the cheap plastic discoloring due to sunlight, and not scratches like an old headlight lense.

There is a guy on the board the is traveling to england where they have clear corners stock. He is supposed to let me know how much they would cost. I guess this is the only way for us to get a decent set of clears.

When I get my next set, I'm putting on 5 coats of UV protection wax.

hmmm since i just put my clear corners on you recommend that i use UV wax to protect them?

dam sure wouldnt hurt.

It can be removed. The guys in the detail shop where I work use a high speed buffer and a product called Cut White, which is made by Ardex. It's just a medium compound with grit. I couldn't believe how easily it took all the yellow off. Hope this helps.
