I've made lots of progress on troubleshooting/rebuilding my transmission and I'm down to lining up the front pump to the bellhousing. I know that I need a tool to line it up. The cheapest online I could find was 85 bucks and the transmission shops here all quoted me about $90 to do it for me. Does anybody have one that I could "rent"? I would pay shipping both ways and maybe a little extra for your trouble. The tranny is a '94 4x4.

Thanks,

Mike

Glacier has been known to rent out his tranny tools, he would definitely have the alignment tools...

Is there another way to get ahold of him? I haven't heard back yet.

I made mine, if you have a machine shop close by it's not very difficult to make. What it looks like is a simple tube, OD is .001" less then ID of bell housing bearing, and ID is .001" over ground area on pump. Just don't buy the two piece plastic ring. It's a piece of junk.

I've been trying to reach him since last month. I sent him an email, and a PM. He hasn't been on a lot lately. He has a lot of things going on at the moment. I'm sure that he will get back to you eventually.

I bought the alignment tools from eBay. keyword: Rotunda.....this is Ford's name of their special tools.

if they show one for an A4LD, 4R or a 5R...they will work. they usually have three of them in the Rotunda kit. I think 2 are slightly oversized if your bellhousing bushing is slightly worn.

Happy hunting.

I use mine every week, so I can't loan it out......sorry. :salute:
