Just wondering if anyone done this before, I read about converting 2WD to 4WD but not the other way around. Reason is today I've picked up a
4R55E transmission and driveshaft from a newly wrecked 2 wheel drive 96 Explorer with 86,000 miles on it for 200.00 (just cannot let it go by at that price) at salvage yard, the truck was just in and still on flatbed. Was planning to convert the transmission to 4WD later on for my truck but all these transfer cases problems and all, was wondering if any special configuration or extra parts needed to convert my 4WD to 2WD later on in the future? Any inputs are deeply appreciated.
