Is it faded? Is that the issue?

I used this stuff that is used a lot in the Boating World. Penetrol. It is almost like a thin Varnish that does not chip or peel.

My black handles were very gray. Not any more. Same goes for my Side view mirrors.

You put it on like Stain, with a rag.
Sorry, I don't have any Before and After pics.

When I came to work, the two guys that have Explorers loved it. They now have black handles again courtesy of Penetrol

no my truck's freen and the handle was back..it just looked like crap having a bigol black handle right there

No, I use a substance for black vinyl roofs. Works quite well too. Its just that the white lettering has worn off. Maybe I'll do this mod too. Got my paint tonite.

That does look nice. Takes a good 5 years off the age of the truck.

But what I'm laughing at is the name of the stuff from Boater's World...Penetrol. Reminds me of the movie "Office Space." Penetrode, the competition of Initech. If none of you have seen "Office Space", I highly recommend it. Especially if you put back a couple cold ones first. Or for those of us who have ever had jobs in the "cube farm."

No its what a 15 yr old does when he can't drive yet and owns an awesome Explorer. PLus it doesn't hurt that he has a nice big garage to work in. Got to spend the winter doing something up here.
