the skinny: my 15" sub is hitting the SAME number my 12" sub was doing... except at a loweer freq (because of tuning freq)

a guy I know says it's my false floor... possible?

and the 15" score was done without roof boy. Roof boy was on my roof when I got my 12" score.

Never had any of my systems metered, so I could not tell you... I would be interested in knowing if a false floor does lead to dB loss however. I'll be watching this thread.

I dont see how it could be your false floor, if anything its taking away from the internal volume of the vehicle, maybe increasing db.? hmmmmm
put "roof boy" on your roof w/ the 15 and see, it (dbs)should be higher, expecially knowing how well ex's roofs flex!!

BTW what you hittin? and with what?

on termpro mics (same one too) the 12" did 144.9db @42Hz, and a guy who I know that seriously knows EVERYTHING about explorers and SPL, says my false floor really hurts my score... the roof boy shouldn't make much of a difference he says, kinda like astro vans and SPL, astro vans perform better with roof flexxing...

did 144.9 @38Hz with the 15"

both adire audio Brahmas. Also... of course mics tell the true physics of how loud it is, but to the ears, the 15" seriously HURTS at 38Hz, and blurrs the letters and numbers all over the dash about 1/4 mm, but enough to notice.

I prolly do a good drive by score now.

BTW, i've come to the conclusion that i'm building asecond box devoted entirely to SPL... cause this box is and was meant for prettyness and loudness, just not pure SPL...

lemme just say this: I can and WILL hit 150dB on a linear X mic.

144.9 @38Hz with the 15"! That would hurt!
...and I have those really good earphones... BUT they seem to only work for 45Hz and up... at 38Hz the air just elaks on through and my ears tickle really bad... which is a bad sign

what? Huh?

Hearing loss whats that? :p

ironically, I DO have a hearing loss, lol, moderate-severe hearing loss mainly in the speech areas between 1-5Khz, basically I hear that range 10dB less than you guys. I try to be careful with bass, but headphones and ear plugs don't always help. I was born with this, so it's not like I was stupid enough to listen to bass at 140dB on 3 hour long trips
