I am looking at getting the alpine cva-1003 for my X. It looks like a pretty good indash screen and it is detachable face which is nice. Does anyone have one? If so, do you like it? Have any pictures of it in your X? Is this a good deal? Dead Link Removed
Thanks,
danny

I had one and it is a great starter multimedia unit. Good picture, lots of features, and cheap. You can get them now for $600 brand new. Downsides if you want to expand with more screens and dvds you dont have enough outs and the expansion box is not avaliable for this model. No cd player or dvd comes with it you have to purchase these seperate. I have pics in my link below. I would give it a 9 out of 10 stars it is a great unit for the money.

thanks for the reply. I noticed you said you "had one" why did you get rid of it? thanks,
danny

It was stolen...............got a new one from insurance and decided to sell it to upgrade to the brand new all-in-one alpine dx-900. Also forgot to mention you will have to make a toggle switch for that screen to watch anything while car is in motion. All you do is splice a wire into the foot-brake and ground the switch. When you turn on the car hold down on the brake and flip the switch back and forth 2 times. It will than successfully bypass the safety feature.

my friend had one. the motor for the face went bad after a year (just after the warranty ran out--doh!).
he liked it a lot.
