Anyone have ProComp ES3000's?

4wheelparts.com is having a buy 3 get 1 free sale on these shocks and I am wanting to get these, cause my edelbrocks didn't really help improve the handling nor did they soak up bumps like the ad described, wasted money if you ask me. But since these were on a sale, I was wondering how good they were? Are the ES 9000 any good? They are a little more, but they seem to be a good shock, but you never know until they are on there. Lets see, 4 ES9000 are going to be $140 for 4 and the ES3000 will be $90 for 4. Any suggestions? Or anyone know of a different shock that is better, but not too expensive? I would love to get the RS9000, but have heard they wear fast, and they are sort of expensive. What about the RS5000's are these good? And do they soak p bumps on the road, and sort of control some of the sway on turns and stuff? Tey are just a few bucks more per shock than the ES9000's. Thanks for any input.

I have the ES9000. They are ok, and seems to handle bumps well enough. I wouldn't say I'm amazed by them, but they get the job done. They came with my Superlift 5.5" when I bought it, so I just installed them rather than shop around for something else.

So the ES9000 aren't great, so I am guessing that the ES3000 wouldn't be any better. What about some Ranchos? Maybe the 5000, or the RSX, they seem to be pretty good, but probably a little more than I have to spend. Are Trailmasters any good? Also, what about Black Diamond (Warn)? A guy I know works at a place that sells Black Diamond, and he could give me a discount, just need to know if they're any good. Thanks Mat, saved me some money.

procomps

i had the es3000's on my truck beforemy explorer and I liked them pretty well they are no "HIGH" performance shock but they do get the job done well! I just ordered the buy 3 get 1 deal from 4wheelparts for my explorer! I see you have a 2 wheel drive, correect?, explorer if they are going on that then I imagine they would be fine and for 90 bucks it is hard to go wrong!

If I buy new shocks I will probably go with Bilstein. If you want a really sweet shock get Sway-a-way or a racing shock that has a sperate resevoir...Those things rule...

Edelbrock is supposed to make a really good shock.

Rancho RS5000s are pretty stiff, stiffer than the procomps...

Hey Mat, Bilstein only makes their regular type shocks for stock applications.

I have the Edelbrocks and haven't really been satisfied with them that much, nothing that great over stock. I have had them for over a year now, and they seem to be pretty bad lately.

I have heard that the RS5000 also go out pretty fast, BUT have heard some good things abotu the RSX's. Too bad I missed the deal on the RS9000.

Anyone have the RSX's that wants to tell me a little bit about them?
