My 97's heater\AC blower motor just got real noisy.
I was thinking it might be leaves or something else in there.
Anyone ever remove or clean theirs out?
Is it a big (or annoying) job?

Thanks

It's a very easy job and it's likely leaves as you mentioned. There are only about 3 screws plus a rubber hose thing that you have to remove. Just pull it out, and you will see whatever is caught in the wheel. I have to do this once or twice a year normally in the fall because leaves get sucked through the cowl.

blower

super easy job

A question about this and its related, I had an 88 ranger that the AC just would not blow very hard. Replaced the blower motor, and still wouldnt blow very hard. Then I found like an intake screen under the dash that was all plugged up with dust and stuff. Cleaned that off and it was blowing like a storm. Is there one of these screens or filters somewhere in an Explorer? Mine seems to be losing the force of the air.

blower motor

Good question,
I didn,t see one when I replaced my blower motor, I know that some of temp. controls are vacum operated is all of your vents, and duct doors opening right? If you find a screen please let everyone know

Thanks,
It's refreshing to know something is easy to get at for a change. Now all I have to do is NOT loose one of screws.
